LOCATION:

The workshop will take place at the “Residenza di Merito” of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, located in Via Roma n ° 6. The field trip will be in Sicily.

How to get to Reggio Calabria.

By Air: The city is served by the Aeropoprto dello Stretto “Tito Minniti”, at only 7 minutes by car from the city center. Currently there are only domestic flights to Reggio Calabria from Milan Linate, Rome Fiumicino and Turin Caselle.

The International airport of Lamezia Terme is 1 h 19 min from Reggio Calabria (with a distance of 126 km). The airport has international and national flights. It is connected to Reggio Calabria city by train and bus.

The International airport of Catania (Sicily) is more o less 3 h from Reggio Calabria (with a distance of133 km). It has more international flights than Lamezia Terme airport and more national flights. It is connected to Reggio Calabria city by train and bus. It is preferable take a bus from the terminal of Catania to Messina (Sicily) and then cross the Strait of Messina with a hydrofoil connecting to the Reggio Calabria port, in the center of the city.

By train: Reggio Calabria is connected to the national rail system by direct high-speed trains from Roma Termini and from Milano Centrale (going by other major Italian stations) arriving in the city center at the station of Reggio Calabria Centrale or Reggio Calabria Lido. The company that operates such transport is Trenitalia. Book well in advance to find discounted prices.

By car: For those who decide to get to Reggio Calabria by car there are two possibilities.

1) From the North: Motorway A2 (Old name “A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria” / New name “A2 Autostrada del Mediterraneo”),

2) from the south: State Road SS106 Jonica (Reggio Calabria-Taranto).
